Editage Grant for Young Researchers
Getting funding for your first research project is one of the hallmarks in every researcher's career. However, young and early career researchers often struggle to secure research funds, especially for novel research topics.
To address this gap and to ensure an inclusive and diverse research community, Cactus Communications provided research grants to said researchers, under our author services brand, Editage.
We offer support to such young researchers through grants. In previous years, we have provided research, travel, and editing service grants that have aided close to 40 young researchers. The latest round of research grant support was started in November 2022.

“I am grateful that I have, on this occasion, been awarded an Editage English editing grant. I am a graduate student, who is currently collecting data and writing a paper. My research concerns the impact of resistance training on arterial distensibility. As I have recently been concentrating my efforts on writing my paper, I am pleased to have received the grant. This grant will allow me to concentrate on my research that contributes to scientific progress.”
Kaname Tagawa
Doctorate, Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences, University of Tsukuba
“Thank you very much for awarding me an Editage English editing grant on this occasion.
I am currently investigating the behavior of Japanese people when communicating in English, from the viewpoint of social ecology. My study is from the viewpoint of relationship flexibility (freedom in terms of interpersonal relationships and group selection), and I have detailed a social impact, which goes beyond an individual. I will be delighted if I can use the grant to publish impactful outcomes.”
Takehiko Ito
Concurrent Lecturer, Center for English as a Lingua Franca, Tamagawa University
“I asked Editage to edit my paper when I was on maternity leave, and they repeatedly gave me advice. I was also much encouraged by the subsidy of research costs of my first project on returning from maternity leave. Thank you very much.”
